Latest Update: The Hyundai Inster has been unveiled globally as the carmaker’s smallest EV, and here is how it compares to the Tata Punch EV.
Price: It is likely to be priced from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
Launch: The Inster is expected to hit the Indian shores by June 2026.
Seating Capacity: The Inster will be available in a 4-seater layout.
Battery Pack and Range: In the global markets, the all-electric Inster will be available with two battery pack options:

42 kWh (97 PS/ 147 Nm)

49 kWh (115 PS/ 147 Nm).
The 42 kWh battery offers a WLTP-rated range of over 300 km, while the bigger 49 kWh battery pack provides a WLTP-claimed range of up to 355 km.
Charging: It supports DC fast charging of up to 120 kW, using which, both battery packs can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. Both battery packs also support 11 kW AC charging, and their charging times are as follows:

49 kWh: 4 hours and 35 minutes
Features: Internationally, the Hyundai Inster has a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup (touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display). Other features include a wireless phone charger, 64-colour ambient lighting, heated steering wheel and driver's seat, a single-pane sunroof, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) support.
Safety: Safety features include multiple airbags and a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor. It also gets an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite that includes lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. However, the India-spec Inster might not come with the ADAS features.
Rivals: The Hyundai Inster will rival the Tata Punch EV, while being a premium alternative to the Citroen eC3, Tata Tiago EV, and MG Comet EV.
