The entry-level cross-hatch segment has become hotly contested in a matter of just two days with the back to back launches of the Maruti S-Presso and Renault Kwid facelift. Both cars appeal to the same demographic and offer similar features. The S-Presso is priced from Rs 3.69 lakh to Rs 4.91 lakh while the facelifted Kwid’s price tag ranges between Rs 2.83 lakh to Rs 4.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Verdict: The Kwid RXT, with its optional package that closes the price gap to the more expensive S-Presso VXI (O) is the more value-for-money package here.

Verdict: While the S-Presso is better equipped in its top-spec variant, the Kwid has more to offer in terms of comforts, features and visual presence. The Renault is our pick yet again at this price.
