New GM MPV spotted undergoing test rounds

A new MPV, Sunshine, though highly camouflaged was spotted testing recently. It is speculated that this new MPV is the one General Motors might bring to India sometime in future. Furthermore, it is rumoured that General Motors could be considering a vehicle from a Chinese manufacturer Wuling for Indian market. So, if we put two and two together, this could be the one, rumours were pointing out to, because, despite the camouflage, one can clearly figure out the Chevrolet badging from the image.

Moreover, there is a strong possibility that General Motors might introduce this Wuling MPV in the range of Rs 4- Rs 6 lakhs. Thinking along the lines of who the potential rivals of the GM MPV would be, Mahindra Xylo is one powerful competitor that pops up in the mind. A new MPV from Maruti, the Ertiga is also expected to be in the similar price range. Coming back to the Wuling Sunshine MPV, we have absolutely no other information except for that this MPV is one of the best-selling vehicles in the Chinese car market. Now you will be wondering how does a China bound vehicle come into the picture.

Apparently, General Motors and the Wuling ties go back to sometime in the past, based on which GM India now plans to strike back. This new Wuling MPV will be a second utility vehicle after Chevrolet Tavera, which is the only other MUV offered in this price bracket. We will have to wait for the information from the horse’s mouth to get more clarity on the timelines for its launch and other specifications.
