Skoda Vision S Concept Unveiled Before 2016 Geneva Motor Show Showcase

Czech automaker Skoda has revealed its Vision S SUV concept ahead of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show showcase. The car will have its world premiere at the upcoming motor show which will be held in the month of March. Commenting on the design philosophy incorporated by the Vision S concept, Skoda said that the car’s design has been inspired by the Bohemian crystal art and Czech cubism, which simply states that the SUV opts for sharp lines instead of floating curves to exude a striking appeal. Company also stated that this particular design language will be incorporated by Skoda’s future SUV/crossover product lineup. They further added that the production spec SUV will be substantially larger than the Skoda Yeti. What one may not be able to spot is that- this concept also features a panoramic sunroof and the cabin gets creature comforts that are not just limited to Volkswagen’s MIB (Modularer Infotainment-Baukasten) technology which is offered with satellite navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay compatibility and comes paired to Canton sound system.

The concept as of now, will only be showcased in a six-seat layout, but the production model will be launched as a 7-seater. There have been multiple reports speculating that the production-spec car will don the moniker ‘Kodiak’. Skoda Kodiak will find its foundation in its parent company Volkswagen’s MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten or Modular Transverse Toolkit) platform. Speaking of speculations, there have also been reports stating that the car will be be sold in a 5-seater layout. Powering the production-spec Kodiak will be Volkswagen’s 1.6-liter TSI and 2.0-litre TDI motors.
