Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI Turbocharged Spy Pictures- Scoop!
Volkswagen India which dropped the 1.6-litre Petrol version of its flagship hatchback, the Polo somedays back due to its not-so-impressive sales performance, is now all set to bring in the 1.2 TSI turbocharged variant of the same vehicle as a replacement. And today we bring to you the spy pictures of this hot hatch variant, which was spotted in Mumbai. The reason behind calling it a hot-hatch is the fact that despite housing a 1.2-litre mill, it still churns out the equal output of 105bhp as the discontinued 1.6-litre version, thanks to the turbocharger and direct injection.

One more reason behind discontinuation of the Polo 1.6 was the higher excite duty, so as the price. But time around, it would get the excise duty benefit because of the smaller 1.2-litre motor, so we can expect a price reduction as well. However we could just click the rear images of the uncamouflaged version, and also the GT and TSI badges were taped as possibly the car was being taken for a test-mule. The alloy wheels are the similar as the updated Polo.
The company claims the 1.2 TSI Turbo version to sprint 0-100kmph in mere 9.7, seconds and promised the top speed of 190kmph, proving it to be one of the swiftest hatches available in India, in fact better than many sedans. We are expecting the Polo 1.2 TSI to be priced about Rs. 80,000-1,0000 lakh higher than the regular 1.2 variant. However, nothing on the launch plans have been disclosed by the company as of now, but we are expecting it to come by Second Quarter of 2013.
