Volkswagen Polo 1.5 TDI in the works
Recent reports in automobile industry suggest that Volkswagen India is planning to launch another variant in the series of Volkswagen Polo small cars i.e. Volkswagen Polo 1.5 TDI. Reports further suggest that new 1.5l TDI engine under the hood of Volkswagen Polo will be of Volkswagen Vento 1.6L diesel which is reduced to comply with small cars excise duty.

It is worth mentioning that Volkswagen Polo is currently available in two variants diesel and petrol. It is said that Volkswagen Polo 1.2L petrol is delivering good results but Volkswagen Polo 1.2L diesel is unable to deliver the desired results as a premium hatchback.As per speculations floating on internet, Volkswagen is affixing the new powerful engine in Volkswagen Polo so as to compete with upcoming Maruti Swift. Sources further added that the car will not be changed from outside and change is expected to take place only under the hood.
