Volkswagen Polo European Car Of The Year 2010.

Volkswagen Polo India launch is expected by 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo. As India is eagerly waiting to receive this much acclaimed hatchback, meanwhile Volkswagen Polo made another major achievement by winning European Car Of The Year 2010. In this tough competition VW Polo surpassed many world class cars with ease. Toyota I.Q. is the nearest competitor which managed to score 337 points while Polo scored 347 points.

European Car Of The Year 2010 award was decided by a panel of 59 European judges. Almost 33 participants took part in this contest. These cars were chosen by a panel of  eminent  car journalists across the Europe. The top seven contestants were Volkswagen Polo 347 points, 59 votes, 25 vote wins, Toyota iQ 337 points, 58 votes, 20 vote wins, Opel/Vauxhall Astra 221 points, 55 votes, 5 vote wins, Skoda Yeti 158 points, 54 votes, 4 vote wins, Mercedes-Benz E-class 155 points, 48 votes, 2 wins, Peugeot 3008 144 points, 49 votes, 2 vote wins and Citroen C3 Picasso 113 points, 47 votes, 1 wins.

It is interesting to observe that Volkswagen Polo has been voted above two well proven cars, Skoda Yeti and Mercedes Benz E-Class. Skoda Yeti in India is also expected in upcoming 2010 Auto Expo. Volkswagen Polo which is expected to be priced below 4.5lakhs in India may be a stripped version of the European Polo. Just wait and watch what's more exciting gonna come your way.. Another upcoming car in India is Volkswagen Beetle.
