Volkswagen sells 6091 units in August 2011
The Volkswagen brand sold 6091 vehicles in the month of August 2011, a growth of 72 percent over 3531 vehicles sold in August 2010. Despite the sluggish market, the Volkswagen Polo and the Volkswagen Vento continue to bring in the numbers for the brand with a total of 5634 units sold in August 2011.

Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “Despite the current market conditions, we are pleased to be able to maintain our overall sales”. Volkswagen last month launched the refreshed version of its premium sedan Volkswagen Jetta.

The company is also contemplating to bring the Up! Series in India. The production version of the hatchback was unveiled few days ago. The car will be launched in December in the European markets followed by India in early 2012. Volkswagen will price this hatchback competitively, it is expected that the Volkswagen Up price is going to fall in the range of Rs 3 to 5 lakh.
