Volkswagen sells 6529 units in July 2011
The Volkswagen brand sold 6529 vehicles in the month of July 2011, a growth of 151 percent over 2597 vehicles sold in July 2010.Despite the sluggish market, the Polo and the Vento continue to bring in the numbers for the brand with a total of 6353 units sold in July 2011.

The Jetta has been well received for the month of July, has sold 109 units. The New Jetta is scheduled to be presented in India on 17th August 2011 in Mumbai. Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “We are pleased with the response received for our products especially the Polo despite the current market scenario. This reflects the growing customer confidence towards our carline in the market”.

Company's another model Volkswagen Vento has given a tough fight to Honda City in the sedan car segment off late, leading to Honda gradually slicing the Honda City price. Another sedan which has given a stiff competition to Volkswagen Vento is the recently launched Hyundai Verna Fluidic. The company is also looking at the probability to launch the VW Up! series in India this year, but it has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of the car.
