Volkswagen Touareg to be launched in India in December 2009

Volkswagen is approaching for it's launch of new car SUV VW Volkswagen Touareg in India, possibly in December 2009. The company had already sold it's models Passat and Jetta in India in the premium sedan segment. The company will also launch its international best seller small car models VW Polo hatchback which will be available by early 2010. The car is currently undergoing changes to suit the taste and demands of Indian car buyers.

The company will also launch its international best seller small car models Volkswagen Polo hatchback which will be available by early 2010. The car is currently undergoing changes to suit the taste and demands of Indian car buyers.

Volkswagen Touareg is built on Porsche Cayenne platform and it will be imported as completely-built unit and will be priced between Rs. 30 lakhs and above. The car is not yet registered as officially importable. It will compete with car models like Volvo XC90, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and BMW X5.

Volkswagen Touareg is one of the most popular high end sports utility vehicles that carry 5-star ratings from IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) in terms of safety features. Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Beetle are the upcoming cars in India.
