Finally, One of the most awaited vehicles, Mahindra Verito Vibe has arrived in the Indian car market. This is the first ever hatchback launched by the Indian auto major Mahindra India. This vehicle is placed in the most competitive hatchback segment in the car market, where it will be competing with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Indica Vista, Chevrolet Sail U VA and others. This new hatchback from Mahindra and Mahindra has the body design that looks much alike its sedan version Mahindra Verito. The company has launched this vehicle with a 1.5-litre diesel engine option only and there is no petrol engine option as of now. The company claims that the new Mahindra Verito Vibe hatchback series is a fuel efficient car with an ability to produce a mileage of 20.8 Kmpl (ARAI Certified). There are three variants available, out of which Mahindra Verito Vibe 1.5 dCi D4 trim is the mid range variant. The company is hoping to increase its market space in the Indian auto market with the launch of this new model.

Exteriors:

This Verito Vibe is the hatchback version of the Mahindra Verito sedan and most of the exterior design looks much identical to the sedan. However, the rear end design is very unusual to other vehicles, which makes it to look like a notchback. To begin with, the front fascia of this new hatchback has a matte black color finished radiator grille, while the company's badge is also affixed on it. This hatchback is offered with body colored front bumper that is integrated with an air dam, but without fog lamps. The headlight cluster resembles the eyebrow shaped desigh, which is also incorporated with side indicator lamps. This trim is being offered with a 2-speed + intermittent windshield wiper that will be very helpful to get a clear vision in rainy weather. It is a bit of disappointment that the vehicle is not offered with alloy wheels. The wheel arches of this hatchback has been fitted with 14 inch steel rims that are further equipped with tubeless radial tyres of size 185/70 R14. As far as the design of rear end is concerned, it looks very different and very unusual. It is offered with a new design LED tail lamps , which are placed on C-Pillars, while the boot lid is fitted with black colored rear applique. You can also notice some of the exterior features such as internally adjustable outside rear view mirrors, roof rails, wheel covers fitted to the steel wheels, which indeed adds style and elegance to the hatchback.

Interiors:

If we talk about the interior design, the entire cabin design of this hatchback remains to be the same as its sedan version. This mid range hatchback in the model lineup has been offered with Woven Jacquard colored premium fabric upholstery that makes the interior section to look more plush and decent. The central console of the vehicle has been offered with storage space where you can keep your documents and files safe. The sporty gear shift knob has got a black finishing, while the central fascia has been painted in body color. This vehicle is offered with passenger vanity mirror while the front and rear door trims are offered with fabric. The company claims that the all new Mahindra Verito Vibe 1.5 dCi D4 trim is a spacious hatchback that can accommodate at least five passengers in 2+3 seating arrangement.

Engine and Performance:

The company has equipped this variant with a powerful diesel engine that delivers good performance and mileage. This mid range variant sports a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, 8-valve based dCi common rail diesel engine with a displacement capacity of about 1461cc . This engine has the ability to churn out a superior power of about 64.1bhp at 4000rpm combined with the maximum torque yield of about 160Nm at 2000rpm. This hatchback has the ability to accelerate from 0-100 Kmph speed in about 18.4 seconds from a standstill, while it has a top speed of 144 Kmph. The engine of this hatchback is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that enables the hatch to produce a 20.8 Kmpl of maximum mileage, while transmitting the power through the front wheels.

Braking and Handling:

The braking and handling aspect of any hatchback is the most important section. The company has fitted this newly launched Mahindra Verito Vibe 1.5 dCi D4 trim with an impressive McPherson type of a mechanism with wish bone link suspension system for the front axle. While the rear axle is fitted with a H-Section torsion bean, that is programed with deflection coil spring. Thus all the occupants inside the car will find it hard to experience any kind of jerks caused to the car on bumpy roads. As far as brakes are concerned, the front wheels of this hatchback have been fitted with disc brakes , while the rear wheels have a proficient drum brakes system. The combination of the disc and drum brakes will add to the safety of the car by functioning effectively in all road and weather conditions.

The safety features of the car includes adjustable front seat belts, collapsible steering column, anti-theft engine immobilizer to void unauthorized entry, front disc brakes for efficient braking , child proof rear door locks, halogen head lamps for clear night vision, prismatic day-night rear view mirror, electric rear window child lock, laminated windshield and few others. There are few other noticeable features includes a tachometer, a dual tone horn and few others.

Comfort Features:

When it comes to the comfort and convenience features of this Mahindra Verito Vibe 1.5 dCi D4 trim, it is offered with some basic and standard feature inside. The list of comfort features of this hatchback include air conditioner with a heater, power steering , power windows (front and rear), adjustable head restraints, fabric upholstery, front door map pocket, LCD display on instrument cluster, central locking, trunk room light, and few others. This vehicle has huge interior space with wide seating arrangement that will surely provide best comforts to the occupants.
