    Nissan calls back 2 mln cars with flawed engine system

    Nissan a well known car makers in Japan, may face a reputation crisis in the auto market. Nissan Motors officials stated that the company will recall as many as 2.1 million units because of the defective engine control system. The problem is with the ignition of the car which may result into stalling while running or it might fail to start. Nissan has proposed to replace the faulty parts and components for free, on its models. The defect in the engine can make it stall while driving. The company confirmed the news which it submitted to the Japanese Transport ministry.

    Japan the auto giant's home, has a big market and it may hinder the value of Nissan. Nissan in Japan will recall a number of 834,759 wheelers in nine models. The models out on sale which will be recalled is Nissan Cube, Nissan March and Tida which were manufactured from 2003 to 2006 in Japan.

    It is also reported that, Nissan's reputation can be at stake due to the recall of its wheelers.

    Nissan is a well known car manufacturer in Japan they have established themselves in the market. But Indian soil has not been so lucky for the auto manufacturers. Nissan Micra is the only wheeler which is out on the Indian roads and has been performing well as the car manufacturers expected it to do. Nissan Micra comes in three petrol versions Nissan XE (base model), Nissan XL (mid range model) and Nissan XV (the high end model) which comes with a price range of Rs 3.98 lacs to Rs 5.28 lacs (New Delhi ex-showroom price). The hatchback comes with five speed manual transmission. The petro version comes with 1.2 litre, 1198 cc petrol engine that generates 76PS power and 104 Nm of torque.

    Nissan is also planning to come with Nissan Sunny based on the Nissan Micra model. The car in planning will be a saloon version of the Nissan Micra. The new car is speculated to be out in two versions in India will be powered with 1.5 litre four cylinder pumping a power of 100bhp and the other will be 1.5 diesel engine. Nissan Sunny is expected to be out in mid 2011.
