    Nissan is Eyeing to Expand Datsun Sales in Middle East, Africa and Latin America

    Japan's second biggest car makers company Nissan Motors is planning to expand sales of its vehicles of the Datsun brand in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. This information was revealed by the chief executive officer Mr. Carlos Ghosn. Ghosn reported that Nissan Datsun will be on sale in these regions after the company has introduced the Datsun vehicles in the Indonesia, India and Russia starting from 2014. Ghosn also added that the company is moving forward slowly with appropriate planning and measures which is affordable and feasible for the company. The Datsun brand is being re-used to capture demand for the low end cars in the emerging markets after three decades as per the plans, which Nissan had made for the increase in the share of the company’s global vehicle sales expecting it to be 8 percent by 2017.

    Nissan Motors is expecting Datsun to register at least half of the total sales at the new regions in about five years of time. Nissan registered a rise of 3.8 percent at the Tokyo market trading center with 771 yen and the benchmark Nikkei added only 1 percent with 224 average stocks in the same trading market. Ghosn also said that Stock piling is not a problem for Nissan and resulting to this the production in China is on a full throttle and also there are possibilities that the Chinese market will increase 7 to 8 percent this year. Ghosn further told about the company’s plan which is aiming to capture 10 percent of global luxury car market by the fiscal year 2016. He further stated that he is expecting that the Japanese currency yen will weaken to 80 to 85 yen against the currency dollar in recent times.
