Chevrolet Cruze to launch in India

The countdown is begin! At last after much speculation, General Motors is all set to introduce its premium sedan, Chevrolet Cruze, in India. The launch is scheduled on 12th October. According to news reports, the sedan will be launched in petrol and diesel variant. However, the capacity of the mills would be different to each other. It is expected that the price tag would range between Rs 14 lakh to Rs 16 lakh. It is also learnt that the company will launch diesel version of Chevrolet Cruze, initially. Sources informed that the petrol version will sport 598cc DHOC engine that is supposed to develop 130 bhp while the 2.0L, 1991cc diesel engine will generate 150 bhp of peak power. The car is to compete with Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic. At present the premium sedan class is dominated by Honda Accord, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Superb, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Laura, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Jetta, Toyota Altis and Honda Civic. Auto makers are ready with several launches in the festival season in India. Some are re-launch and a few are new launches. Tata Motors is going to launch Tata Manza and Maruti will introduce Maruti SX4 automatic variant in India.
