General Motors India is putting in its all heart and soul to expand its portfolio in India. This would be proudly done by introducing the much anticipated Chevrolet Sail sedan in the Indian car market by the end of this year. Chevrolet Sail sedan was recently spotted on the Pune roads, during its test run, where General Motors also happen to have its very own engine manufacturing plant.

The new Chevrolet Sail sedan has been fully created by the Chinese subsidiary of General Motors. This sedan is already present in the Chinese car market, however in the petrol variant. But for the Indian car market, GM India is expected to feature the Fiat multi-jet diesel engine. Another reason behind using this diesel engine is that the power-plant where this is produced, General Motors has a joint ownership rights. The new Chevrolet Sail Sedan will come powered with the responsive 1.3 litre of diesel engine along with a petrol engine to serve the needs of aspiring consumers. At the 2012 Auto Expo, which was held in New Delhi, General Motors India showcased both Chevrolet Sail sedan and Chevrolet Sail hatchback.

General Motors India will at last step into the C-segment of the Indian car market with the brand new car, Chevrolet Sail sedan and that too with a diesel engine option, that has been terribly missed all through these years. This new sedan from General Motors’ village will have a tough competition from sedans like Toyota Etios, Toyota Manza, and Maruti Swift Dzire.
