    Thanks to the sky rocketing petrol prices that diesel cars in India are selling like hot cakes. The diesel car segment of the Indian car market has seen a rapid growth lately, all because diesel prices are lesser than petrol prices.

    According to the director of sales of General Motors India, Mr. Vikas Jain, currently, the diesel car segment comprises of 20% of the Indian car market share and it is expected to expand with a great speed. Also 70% of the Indian car market is controlled by small cars; therefore the car manufacturers are working on developing diesel variants of these small cars.
