Renault Scala Travelogue Edition launched at Rs 8.48 lakh

The French automaker launched Renault Scala Travelogue Edition at a price of Rs 8.48 lakh, which is based on the RXL petrol variant. On the diesel front, the Travelogue Edition starts with a price tag of Rs 9.31 lakh for RXL diesel while the RxZ model costs 10.20 lakh. Travelogue Edition in CVT ranges from RxL CVT at Rs 9.62 lakh and RxZ CVT at Rs 10.51 lakh.

However, the company has launched the Scala Travelogue Edition in April 2013 but its was limited only to RxZ trim but now the automaker has launched this edition in 5 more variants including two diesel and three petrol variants. Renault India in order to revive the sales of its saloon has launched this special edition. The Travelogue Edition features touch-screen navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, LED Scuff plates, Sun blinds and side blinkers on ORVMs.

Under the hood, the car remains same and will keep on housing its tried and tested 1.5-litre XH2 petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 97.6bhp and 134Nm of peak torque. The petrol model comes with an option of 5-speed Manual or CVT gearbox.

The sedan is also offered with 1.5-litre, K9K, dci diesel engine which develops a power of 84.8bhp and 200Nm of torque. The engine is mated only to a five speed manual transmission. The company states that the diesel variant delivers a fuel economy of 21.64kmpl. The company recently introduced Adventure Edition in the top selling compact SUV Duster in both 110PS and 85PS model line-up which further helped in boosting the sales and thus the automaker is looking for the same result in its sedan Scala.

The manufacturer recently touched a magic figure of selling one lakh Duster and in order to commemorate this achievement, the French manufacturer has also launched ‘Duster 1 Lakh Limited Edition' at price of Rs 9.99 lakh. Speaking on achieving this significant milestone Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO & M.D. Renault India said “Renault Duster has carved a niche for itself by creating a new segment and is the reference model within the segment.

We at Renault are proud to reach this milestone of having crossed one lakh Duster sales and are happy that India is contributing significantly in the overall sales of Duster globally. We thank our customers for being the proud owners and helping for contributing Renault to reach this milestone in a record time.”

The automaker has also introduced the Gang of Dusters, a special initiative to bring together Duster owners. The initiative offers a great opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts to come together.
