Chevrolet Sail hatchback did create quite a bit of sensation at the Auto Expo with its premium looks and GM's intention to introduce it in both the fuel variants. Though drawn into discussion a couple of times, Chevrolet Sail sedan did miss out the hype at the recently concluded 11th Indian Auto Expo. But, not to worry here are a few sneaked pictures of the Chevrolet Sail sedan which despite the camouflage offers enough tidbits to catchup with the grapevine.

The exteriors of the sedan give an impression of the upright sitting sedan with not too bad to look at for a start looking refined from every angle. The fascia of the car is well-finished without the snub nosed look especially when observed along the sides like in current Maruti Swift Dzire. The interiors are most sparsely equipped, just covering the bare essentials in the sedan.

The car is completely devoid of chrome inserts whatsoever, not even on the steering wheel as commonly observed of late. The conventional arrangement of A/C vents and music/entertainment system can be located though nothing unusual. But again, General Motors might come up with a nice warm price for the sedan around Rs 4- Rs 5 lakh thanks to its Chinese built and presence. This brings us to the origin of the Chevrolet Sail sedan which General Motors has dug up depending on its partners SAIC and Wuling with Chinese roots buried deep in China.

Mechanically, the Chevrolet Sail sedan will most probably come with the 1.3 L Fiat’s multijet diesel engine as observed in the Chevrolet MPV and Chevrolet Sail hatchback displayed at the Auto Expo, but for the petrol engine, General Motors India might use the 1.4 L gasoline engine as seen in Chevrolet Aveo which is basically what GM India hopes to replace in the domestic car market with the new Sail sedan. Unlike the Chevrolet Aveo sedan, getting the Chevrolet Sail sedan price right could help the auto major garner better sales for the upcoming twins targeted to replace the Chevrolet Aveo twins.
