The Volkswagen Vento is basically a starting rage sedan model which has been specially designed for the emerging markets like India. While manufacturing the Vento model in the Indian market, the company has given a special consideration to the needs and requirements of the Indian buyers. The car will exclusively be manufactured in the Indian market. The model is expected to hit the Indian roads by the end of this quarter.

The launch of the Volkswagen Vento in the Indian market will mark the debut of the company in the highly competitive and volume driving entry-level sedan segment. The new Volkswagen baby will be competing with some of the most popular cars of this segment including Maruti Swift Dzire, Fiat Linea, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna Transform.

Mr Mueller said on the occasion that India is a strategic long-term growth market for the Volkswagen Group. The start of production of the Vento is more than just the roll-out of a car. He added that not only does it mark another milestone in company's journey into a successful future for the Volkswagen Group, it also reiterates Volkswagen’s commitment to India. Further elaborating the company's plans for the Indian market, he said that in the last three years, the Group has launched a new model in India every two months which reflects its strong belief in the potential of the Indian market.
