Volkswagen to bring eco friendly cars
These days, almost every major automobile company is announcing its plan of green cars - either hybrid plug-ins or the electric ones. But Volkswagen, the biggest automobile company of Europe had not made any announcements in this direction, yet. The global auto company is now planning to manufacture and sell ten thousand electric cars in the Chinese auto market from the year 2014 to 2018.

These days, almost every major automobile company is announcing its plan of green cars - either hybrid plug-ins or the electric ones. But Volkswagen, the biggest automobile company of Europe had not made any announcements in this direction, yet. The global auto company is now planning to manufacture and sell ten thousand electric cars in the Chinese auto market from the year 2014 to 2018. It would be the time when the other competitors will also be adding more fuel-efficient vehicles in the biggest auto market of the world, that is China. The auto market of China has put the US auto market behind and is providing big dips for attracting customers for the use of green cars. Certain companies including General motors - the biggest overseas player in China, is planning to introduce their recent hybrid or electric plug-ins in the Chinese auto market.
Karl-Thomas Neumann, president of Volkswagen Group China has commented that Volkswagen will make an electric model at the local ventures with the help of SAIC Motor Corporation and FAW Group Corporation. This will start with the beginning of the year 2013. The Volkswagen group is also mulling for a model that will be battery-powered and will particularly be designed for the nation in the year 2018. Volkswagen was the the first overseas automaker which made its entry into the Chinese market, some 3 decades ago. The group is now joined by other major global players like Genearl Motors, Nissan and Daimler in providing electric cars in the country.
Although it is a fact that the demand for these vehicles has yet to pick up but the government is making all types of efforts to provide various incentives for making these vehicles an attractive option to purchase. Those who purchase pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids will get subsidies as much as sixty thousand yuan for helping out in reducing pollution and also the oil dependency. Volkswagen, the German carmaker will launch its Volkswagen Touareg hybrid (SUV) Sports Utility Vehicle in the present year. The group will also start testing its electric vehicles in the Chinese auto market this year only.
