Where the Polo model is already clocking high-volume sales in the country, Vento is expected to perform the same way Maruti Swift Dzire has been performing since last few years.

Taking on Maruti Suzuki, which has more than 50% of the market share in the Indian auto market, is not at all an easy task, and Volkswagen seems to be well aware of it. To make a difference in the country's auto market, the German auto giant has launched first-of its-kind advertising campaign. The company has established a massive manufacturing plant in Pune so that it can catch-up with the continuously increasing demand in these volume driven segments.

After its launch in the Indian market, the Vento will be competing with some of the most popular cars of this segment including Honda City, Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Fiesta and recently launched Hyundai Verna Transform. The new Volkswagen baby is expected to be shelved in the price segment of Rs 7 to Rs 9 lakh.
